AI could have created a proclamation against deepfakes.

 Minnesota's " Use of deep fake technology to influence an election" law is dealing with the influence of AI a federal lawsuit. In last filing, law is challenged by the attorneys say an affidavit to support it which contains AI generated text. In the "The Minnesota Reformer reports" director of Stanford Social Media Lab founding Mr. Jeff Hancock asked by Attorney General Keith Ellison to make the submission, but the content in the document contains the non-existent sources that seem to have been manipulated by ChatGPT or other LLM.

AI could have created a proclamation against deepfakes.

Hancock found a published study in 2023 in the journal  of information technology and politics which is titled by " The influence of Deepfake Videos on political attitudes and Behavior."

The twist happens when Reformer founds according to them there is no record of that study in the Journal of Information Technology & Politics and also not any other Publications. They also found after cited Handcock's declaration "Deepfakes and the illusion of Authenticity: Cognitive processes behind misinformation Acceptance," doesn't even exist either. 

Also Hancock did not respond to The Verge's request for comment.

Russia strikes missiles on Ukraine indicates the strong warning to West

Friday, Russia's striking of missile on Ukraine with hypersonic ballistic missile gives a strong note to the West that they will respond harshly to any support from them to the Kyiv.
Spokesperson of Kremlin Mr. Dmitry Peskov said "The main message is that the reckless decision and actions of Western Countries that produce missiles, supply them to Ukraine, and subsequently participate in strikes on Russian territory cannot remain without a reaction from the Russian side."
Also he said that " The Russian side has clearly demonstrated its capabilities, and the contours of further retaliatory actions in the event that our concerns are not taken into account have been quiet clearly outlined."

ISS SpaceX capsule provides NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams with a new means of transportation home in 2019

 After months of uncertainty, two astronauts who have been stranded aboard the International Space Station (ISS) since June have finally received a lifeline in the form of a SpaceX capsule that arrived on Sunday. This capsule will serve as their ride home next year, offering relief after an extended mission that was only supposed to last a week, according to the Associated Press.

The Rescue Mission  

SpaceX launched the mission on Saturday, sending two astronauts to the ISS while leaving two empty seats for Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams, the astronauts in need of transport. The Dragon capsule successfully docked with the station as it passed 265 miles (426 kilometers) above Botswana, ensuring their future return journey.

Change of Plans  

Initially, Wilmore and Williams were slated to return to Earth aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. However, due to safety concerns raised during Starliner’s first crewed test flight—specifically issues with thruster failures and helium leaks—NASA decided to pull them from that mission. The Starliner, deemed too risky for their journey home, had to return to Earth earlier this month without a crew.

A Lengthened Stay  

What was meant to be a short mission for the astronauts has now turned into a much longer one. Wilmore and Williams, who were expected to be in space for just a week, will now spend over eight months aboard the ISS. Their new return vehicle, the Dragon capsule, will remain docked at the station until their scheduled return in February.

New Arrivals  

The arrival of two new astronauts on Sunday also signals the upcoming return of the four-person crew currently stationed at the ISS since March. Their departure had been postponed for a month due to ongoing complications with Boeing’s Starliner, which affected the mission schedule.

NASA’s Position on Boeing  

Despite the setbacks with Boeing’s spacecraft, NASA is not ready to abandon the company. Jim Free, NASA’s associate administrator, expressed that they are far from giving up on Boeing. Inspections of the Starliner are ongoing, and reviews of the post-flight data are already in progress.

SpaceX’s Minor Setback  

While the SpaceX rescue mission largely went as planned, there was a minor issue after the launch. The upper stage of the rocket missed its intended impact zone in the Pacific Ocean due to engine problems. As a precaution, SpaceX has paused further Falcon rocket launches until the cause of the issue is thoroughly investigated.

 The Infinix Zero Flip, the first clamshell-style foldable phone from Infinix, is set to be launched in India soon. After making its debut in global markets last month, the phone will arrive in India by mid-October, as confirmed by the company, which is owned by Transsion Holdings. This exciting foldable device comes equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset and boasts a 6.9-inch main display, paired with a 3.64-inch cover display. For photography enthusiasts, the Infinix Zero Flip offers a powerful camera setup, featuring a dual 50-megapixel camera system on the outer side, and another 50-megapixel camera on the inner display, which is cleverly housed within a hole-punch cutout.

According to a microsite on the company’s official website, the Infinix Zero Flip is scheduled to be launched in India on October 17. Globally, the phone has been released in two color variants: Blossom Glow and Rock Black. However, the Indian website currently only showcases the Rock Black variant. Pricing details and other availability specifics are expected to be announced closer to the launch date.

Expected Specifications of Infinix Zero Flip

The Infinix Zero Flip coming to India is expected to share the same specifications as its global counterpart. This includes the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, with configurations offering up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 512GB of internal storage. The phone is set to run on XOS 14, Infinix's customized version of Android 14.

The Zero Flip sports a 6.9-inch full-HD+ AMOLED inner display, supporting a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance, while the cover display is a 3.64-inch AMOLED panel, also refreshing at 120Hz.

Measuring 40 centimeters, this capsule will carry four cameras and 200 sensors to document every stage of the satellite’s destruction.

As DRACO plummets back to Earth, the capsule will record invaluable data, capturing how the satellite disintegrates in real time. Once the capsule reaches a certain point, it will deploy a parachute and transmit the collected data before descending into the ocean. Although the capsule will be lost at sea, the information it sends back will offer unprecedented insight into satellite breakup.

In a ruling from U.S. District Judge Edward Davila, based in San Jose, California, the court dismissed most claims tied to Apple’s "Allow Apps to Request to Track" setting on its mobile devices. This feature controls how third-party apps track user activity. However, the judge allowed some claims to proceed, particularly those focusing on the "Share [Device] Analytics" setting.

At the heart of the lawsuit, users allege that Apple misled them by promising that disabling certain privacy settings would restrict the company’s ability to collect, store, and use their data. Despite these assurances, users claim that Apple ignored their choices and continued to gather personal information. The case is one of many that have emerged against technology companies like Apple, Google, and Meta, accusing them of data collection without user consent.

In a detailed 39-page ruling issued late Thursday, Judge Davila highlighted that Apple had been transparent in explaining the "Allow Apps to Request to Track" setting, noting it only applied to data collection by third-party apps and websites. The judge concluded that it would be unreasonable for users to believe that by turning this setting off, they were stopping Apple from collecting data through its own services.

However, the ruling took a different tone regarding the "Share [Device] Analytics" setting. Judge Davila found that users could reasonably argue they had withdrawn consent for data collection when disabling this option. Apple’s own disclosures suggested that turning off this setting would entirely stop the sharing of device analytics, giving users a plausible case.

Apple has stated that data gathered through the "Share [Device] Analytics" setting is used to improve its products and services. The company, along with lawyers for the plaintiffs, has yet to respond publicly to the judge's decision. 

The lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages, underscores growing concerns around how tech giants handle personal data, sparking legal challenges that could shape the future of privacy in the digital age.

 The WordPress community is currently embroiled in a heated dispute between Matt Mullenweg, the founder of WordPress and CEO of Automattic, and WP Engine, a leading hosting service for WordPress-based websites. WordPress, an open-source platform powering nearly 40% of websites globally, has long offered flexibility for users, allowing them to either self-manage their hosting or opt for providers like Automattic or WP Engine. However, recent accusations have sparked tensions, threatening the collaborative spirit that underpins the WordPress ecosystem.

The Initial Conflict

In September, Mullenweg launched a scathing public critique of WP Engine, describing the company as a "cancer to WordPress" in a blog post. His primary issue? WP Engine had allegedly disabled the ability for users to track post revisions, a feature that Mullenweg believes is critical for protecting user data and ensuring transparency. He accused the hosting provider of sacrificing this functionality as a cost-cutting measure. Moreover, Mullenweg claimed that WP Engine’s use of "WP" in its branding was deceptive, implying an official connection to WordPress that didn’t exist. He also pointed fingers at WP Engine’s investor, Silver Lake, for failing to contribute to the WordPress open-source project, despite the company's profitability.

The Legal Battle Begins

WP Engine quickly fired back by issuing a cease-and-desist letter, demanding Mullenweg retract his statements. The company defended its use of the WordPress trademark under the principle of fair use and alleged that Mullenweg had pressured them to purchase a WordPress trademark license, threatening severe consequences if they didn’t comply. In response, Automattic sent its own cease-and-desist, accusing WP Engine of violating trademark regulations.

As the legal back-and-forth escalated, the WordPress Foundation stepped in by updating its trademark policy, specifically criticizing WP Engine’s branding for creating confusion among users. While acknowledging that "WP" is not trademark-protected, the foundation argued that WP Engine’s actions muddied the waters, misleading users into thinking the company was officially associated with WordPress. It also noted that despite WP Engine’s considerable earnings, the company had not made any financial contributions to the foundation, further straining relations.

Mullenweg’s Ban and Community Uproar

Mullenweg escalated the conflict by banning WP Engine from accessing key resources on WordPress.org, a decision that immediately affected a multitude of websites. Without access to vital plugin and theme updates, these sites were exposed to potential security risks, leaving users and developers scrambling to find solutions.
